After successfully completing the Level 4 Intelligence Analyst Apprenticeship Standard, Ashley Dawkins, UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), shared insight into his apprenticeship experience with Intelligencia Training.

What have been the main benefits of undertaking this apprenticeship?

“In my experience one of the main benefits of undertaking this qualification centres on how it prepares participants to apply what they are learning to their job role. The emphasis is placed from the start on practical application and role specific examples. I found it very useful to think through and implement new methods on data collection, analytical techniques and more to work projects. Thinking through how the skills and knowledge from the course apply to my role has opened up new opportunities in the workplace.”

How have you found the experience of learning alongside your role?

“The balance of learning alongside my daily role was reasonable and manageable. It is clearly communicated how much time is allocated to the qualification. With how the course encourages participants to think through their learning in relation to their role, it became second nature to think of the learning as informing my job role and vice versa.”

Would you recommend this apprenticeship to others?

“I happily recommend this qualification to folks working with data collection and analysis, who are looking for a good grounding in how to implement the intelligence cycle within their current and future job roles. The course is clearly structured into modules, is well-paced, and taught to a high and professional standard. Our instructor clearly communicated the course content, encouraged interaction, and provided useful, and regular feedback on all work submitted.”
